Bluejay Water Co.

Top pick for city water

Standard Whole-Home Softener + Filtration

36,000 grain softener with carbon filtration · single tank

Takes care of the two problems most city-water homes around Gainesville and Lake City have: hard water that scales up your pipes and water heater, and chlorine you can taste in your coffee and feel on your skin and hair. One tank, one control valve, one clean install.

Best for: Most 3 to 4 bedroom homes on city water

Bluejay Standard Whole-Home Softener + Filtration system with brine tank

What it fixes

  • Hardness
  • Scale and spots
  • Chlorine taste and smell
  • Chloramine

How it works

In plain terms.

  1. Carbon layer

Water passes through granular coconut shell carbon first, which takes out chlorine and chloramine.

  2. Softening resin

High-capacity, 10% crosslinked resin below captures calcium and magnesium. It holds up to chlorine and lasts longer than standard resin.

  3. Polishing gravel

A gravel base supports the resin and keeps water from channeling, so the whole bed does the work.

  4. Automatic regeneration

The valve rinses and recharges the resin based on how much water you use. Ceramic discs inside mean less wear, and settings survive outages of up to 72 hours.

What it won't do

  • It's not built for iron or sulfur. If you're on a well with either, the dual tank is the right call.
  • Large households or very hard water can outrun it. The XL is the same build with more capacity.

Maintenance

  • Add salt when the brine tank gets low, usually every month or two.
  • Carbon wears out over time. We check it at your yearly re-test.
Bluejay XL Softener + Filtration system with brine tank

XL Softener + Filtration

The standard build with more capacity.

Same softener-and-carbon design as the standard, with a wider tank and a third more resin. It regenerates less often and keeps up with more people and harder water.

Best for: Larger households or very hard water.

Bluejay Salt-Free Conditioner tank

Salt-Free Conditioner

Scale prevention without salt or a drain line.

Changes hardness minerals so they are much less likely to stick as scale. To be clear: it prevents scale. It does not remove hardness, and it is not for iron or sulfur.

Best for: City-water homes that want low upkeep and no salt.

Bluejay Tankless RO system
Top pick for drinking water

Tankless RO

800 gallons a day, 7 stages, and no storage tank under your sink.

Compact tankless reverse osmosis with seven stages of filtration and built-in alkaline remineralization. It works to remove heavy metals, chlorine and dissolved solids, and it adds beneficial minerals back in. The coconut-carbon filter gives you a smoother, fresher taste. Its 2:1 drain ratio wastes far less water than a standard RO, and with no storage tank it frees up space under your sink.

Best for: Anyone who wants cleaner water for drinking and cooking

Questions

About the Standard Whole-Home Softener + Filtration

Will soft water feel slippery?

At first, a little. That's the soap rinsing off fully instead of leaving a film. Most people stop noticing within a week.

Does it work on a well?

Only if the well has no iron or sulfur, which is rare around here. The test will tell us.
